Two creative paths. One shared vision.
Emora began when Madeleine Dworkin and Shimmy Savitsky met through a business program and discovered a shared belief: that fine jewelry could hold more than beauty. It could hold history, identity, and the stories we want to carry forward.
Coming from two different creative and entrepreneurial worlds, they saw an opportunity to combine Madeleine’s approach to Jewish storytelling and design with Shimmy’s experience in fine jewelry and made-to-order production.
Together, they created Emora: a fine jewelry house rooted in Jewish heritage, designed for the modern woman, and made to be passed from one generation to the next.

Madeleine’s work has long lived at the intersection of beauty, tradition, and storytelling.
As the founder of The Holy Hostess, she built a community around bringing greater beauty and intention into Jewish life, reimagining tradition through hosting, flowers, food, and thoughtful design. She later expanded that creative world through Build A Bouquet NYC, creating floral experiences and activations centered around gathering and celebration.
Emora grew naturally from that same philosophy.
Drawing inspiration from the women of Jewish history and the women in our own lives, Madeleine leads Emora’s creative direction, from the meaning behind each collection to the design language, imagery, and world surrounding every piece.
For her, jewelry is uniquely powerful because it travels through generations. A ring, necklace, or pair of earrings can begin with one woman and become part of another woman’s story decades later.
Emora was created to give those pieces meaning from the very beginning.
Shimmy Savitsky
Co-Founder
Shimmy brings years of experience in the fine jewelry industry and the full capabilities of an established made-to-order jewelry operation.
Through his work, he has helped hundreds of customers bring their dream pieces to life, transforming personal ideas and inspiration into one-of-a-kind fine jewelry. With access to an extensive network of diamond sourcing, skilled jewelers, setters, CAD designers, and production specialists, Shimmy understands what it takes to carry a piece from its earliest concept through to the finished design.
His expertise gives Emora the ability to pair the intimacy and creativity of an emerging design house with the craftsmanship, sourcing, and production capabilities of an established jewelry business.
It was the combination of these two worlds that made Emora possible: Madeleine’s background in Jewish storytelling, community building, and creative direction, paired with Shimmy’s expertise in fine jewelry, custom design, sourcing, and production.
One begins with the story. The other knows how to bring it to life.
The Light of Our Mothers
The name Emora comes from the Hebrew words ema, mother, and or, light.
That idea became the foundation of the brand.
Inspired by the matriarchs of the Torah and the matriarchs in our own lives, Emora creates fine jewelry that carries their strength, character, and light into a new generation.
For centuries, jewelry has been passed from woman to woman, carrying memories and meaning along with it. Emora takes that tradition one step further by creating pieces whose stories begin long before they are passed down.
